Reading journal August 2023
August was the month of the magical readathon and for my reading journal I was inspired by a spread I made in April for the Alchemy quest.
Now, the inspiration didn’t really go much further than wanting to use the same purple paper, since I had decided that I wanted to work with purple in August.
Because of the paper and stickers I chose, the colour palette went to purple combined with pink. I always tend to combine purple with yellow or blue, so I thought this was a nice and, for me, atypical change!
The subsequent pages came together quite automatically once that first page was made.
I was in two minds about my favourite book of the month.
Without a doubt, Oathbringer was my favourite book of the month. But because I had already selected a Stormlight book as a monthly favourite earlier this year, I didn’t want to go for the same series again. But I also had a lot of fun in August with Daisy Darker, which I also gave 5 stars. So in the end the choice was quickly made.
For the rest of my spreads in August I had to be a bit creative to save some space. My journal is filling up very quickly and I don’t want to have to start a new one before the end of the year. So I worked a lot with fold-outs and tip-ins.
I still fear that I won’t have enough space for the last 4 months of the year, especially if I continue reading at the same pace. But yeah, I’ll have to wait and see about this of course.
For August, I’m very happy with the result 🙂
Cheers,
Charlotte
