Nog meer Hogwarts
De maand mei loopt op zijn einde en ik ben super trots dat ik alle taken voor de 6 klassen van de HPKCHC heb volbracht! Ze logen niet toen ze zeiden dat deelnemen aan de House Cup je productiviteit zou verdubbelen 😉 !
Ik toonde eerder al mijn huistaken voor potions en charms. En dit zijn de overige lessen:
Herbology
Voor Herbology moesten we iets versieren met bloemen of iets maken met een bloemenmotief. Ik koos, zonder planning, voor de eerste mogelijkheid.
Ik was het verjaardagscadeau voor mijn moeder aan het inpakken, toen ik besloot dat het er een beetje kaal uit zag. Daarom haakte ik wat bloemen ter versiering. Opdracht volbracht!
Mijn moeder vond de bloemen zelfs zo leuk dat ze nu over een fotokader gedrapeerd hangen 😆
Defence Against the Dark Arts (DADA)
Vood DADA moesten we Extendable Ears (ik lees de boeken in het Engels, dus ik weet niet hoe deze in het Nederlands heten) om een lid van een ander huis te bespioneren en zo een project kiezen. Dit is hoe ik mijn huistaak indiende:
I really took the Extendable Ears idea to the extreme and had a pair (or two) stalking all three houses left for my assignment. I stalked everyone I came across (read clicked all the names sorted in the sorting thread in all houses except my own), until I heard shenene from Slytherin talk about her cute apple cosy.
Yeahyeah, I know she calls it evil for the world to see, but I distinctly heard her say cute. Now, when you hear a Slytherin say cute you do a double take. It’s something that catches the attention, even if you have 3 to 6 EE’s to listen to!
So, I stopped listening to my other EE’s to hear the details of this curious item and was so intrigued I had to try for myself.
Unfortunately, something must have gone wrong with all my wirings, because my supposed apple cosy could not fit any apple I had lying around. So I used it to cosy an orange instead 😉
Thank you for this awesome challenge, but I think I will take it easy with the Extendable Ears for now. I just hope that all the things I overheard did not do any permanent damage to my ears or anything else!
Jawel, ook al gebruikte ik 3 draden samen en een grotere haaknaald dan het patroon aangaf, het jasje voor mijn appels werd toch te klein. Oh ja, het ziet er toch wel mooi uit!
Ancient Runes
De opdracht voor Ancient Runes was:
(a) craft something based on ONE or more Runic symbols from the Elder Futhark. You MUST tell us which symbol you chose and how it relates; or (b) Craft something based on or related to Norse mythology, or a god from the Norse Pantheon.
Voor deze opdracht koos het huis van Gryffindor om samen te werken, dit heet dan een Secret House Unity Project:
In Harry’s second year, Gilderoy Lockhart released a cage full of Cornish Pixies on the class and they proceeded to destroy the room before Hermione was able to stop them.
Loki is a Norse god known for both shape-shifting and trouble-making. I propose that we turn in Pixies, doxies, fairies, and various other trouble-making magical creatures for Ancient Runes this month as a House Unity Project.
On the 25th, once the signal is given, turn in your creature – make sure you post a photo of the havoc and chaos caused by said creature. (Let the professor know that this creature is Loki in disguise.) Be as creative in your story as you like, too.
After we turn in our “Loki Pixies” in Ancient Runes, we will turn them loose on Ravenclaw Tower – they love explosions in the lab up there, so we should be friendly and oblige them! Pranks are what we are known for after all!
Mijn plan was om dit elfje in de vorm van een vuurelf te maken. Vuur omdat Loki vuur aan de mens gaf, zoals Prometheus in de Griekse mythologie.
Ik wou haar vuurrood haar geven en een jurk in wol die van kleur wisselde. De huid zou ik in wit doen en dan versieren met rode glitter.
Maar toen kwam de deadline van de 25ste gevaarlijk dicht en ik wist dat ik het niet meer op tijd af zou kunnen hebben. Vooral omdat ik problemen had met het haken van het haar, dat steeds véééééél te groot uitviel in vergelijking met haar hoofd.
En toen kreeg ik een ingenieus idee: waarom het elfje niet kaal laten en er een huiself van maken? En zo onstond mijn bezeten huiself:

Voor HoM moesten we ofwel de Chamber of Secrets betreden of iets maken die geïnspireerd was door ons bezoek aan de kamer; of iets maken die met archeologie te maken had. En dit was mijn huistaak:
Like any sensible person I was feeling a little apprehensive about entering the chamber. I was determined to prepare myself as well as I could for my journey. You know, Gryffindors are brave, and I too am brave, but there is a fine line between bravery and stupidity and I’m determined to stay on the right side of that line. Preparation before going on a dangerous quest is key to success!
Anyway, I did all I could think of to prepare myself. I worked hard on all my classes so I knew as much as first year can know. I read up on the chamber and I equipped myself with the best gear I could get my hands on.
But next to bravery and preparation there is a third element that can make or break your quest: LUCK
And luck isn’t something you can just summon, unless you just happen to have a bottle of Felix Felicis. So, determined to have luck on my side too, I created these two ancient symbols of luck to accompany me: an acorn and a four-leaf clover.
I am now all set to descend into the unknown! Wish me luck 😉
FOUR-LEAF CLOVER:

During the Norman Conquest, the English carried dried acorns to protect themselves from the brutalities of the day. Considered to be an emblem of luck, prosperity, youthfulness and power, the Acorn is a good luck symbol indeed! It also represents spiritual growth.
