New favourite sweater (eventually)
It’s ridiculous sometimes how long I let projects drag on — when really, they could be finished in no time at all!
The last time I blogged about this sweater — over a year ago by now — it still looked like this: no sleeves, no collar.
The rest — the sleeves and the collar — were actually knitted before that summer, but when I tried it on, I felt the bind-off edge at the hem was a bit too tight. And since I had already diligently woven in all my ends (of course), it wasn’t exactly easy to undo that round without dropping stitches. The task required scissors and a lot of patience, so I kept putting it off… until one day, I felt brave enough.
On a nice sunny day, I took it outside with me and got to work. And well… what had seemed like a tricky operation in my head — full of potential dropped stitches and accidental holes — turned out to be a pretty simple job that didn’t take long at all!
And just like that: my new sweater was done!
This is it before washing. A good soak definitely wouldn’t hurt the fabric, especially around the neckline, which curled outward more than I liked and didn’t want to lie flat.
And here it is, washed, finished, and worn. I’m really happy with it. The fit is perfect, the length of both body and sleeves is spot on, and it’s just super comfy overall.
In short: a new favourite!
In my head, I’m already planning a second one. Let’s be honest — we all know I have enough yarn at home to make a few dozen more. LOL.
Cheers,
Charlotte
