Reading journal October 2022

As the end of the year approaches, my attention seems to be scattering in all directions. This is definitely felt in my reading journal, since I only just finished my entries for October.
Yes, you read that right, I haven’t even started my November and December setups! Normally I make my setups somewhere in the beginning of the month. Ideally I would like to make them at the end of the previous month, but I’m always happy to manage it at the beginning. Now I’m litterly more than a month behind!

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my reading journal and I definitely want to continue making one, but it’s obvious that some month I just have more time for it than other months.
November has been a very busy month for me, which is being felt in all my hobby’s, which were very much pushed to the background. Which is ok, of course, that’s life, but my personallity makes me stress about having to finish these things and I just put that pressure on myself which eventually leads to me doing nothing, lol.
ANYHOW, this long ranty entry just to say: here’s finally my October reading journal spreads!

My title spread was completely based on this gorgeous illustration I had found on Pinterest. It’s an art print by Celia Krampien.

Since I really loved this illustration, I didn’t want to crowed the page too much. To make it somewhat interesting, I used gridded paper as a background and then decorated minimally with a border, some Action stickers and washi tapes, and a stamp.

For the border and stamp, I used Crayola markers, as well as for the title.

The righthand page just continued the theme with the same colours, stickers, washi and stamp.

And the rest of my pages and spreads were continuations of the same theme.

I must say, I’m really loving the result.
The colours I would not have used together if I hadn’t pulled them from the illustration, but I really like the combination.
Using a felt marker to colour in a stamp to use is something I’ll definitely do more. I don’t have that many stamps, but I never use them, because I have no ink pads and don’t want to buy them, lol. So this is a really cute and easy alternative!

And now to decide what I’ll do about November and December, lol

Cheers,
Charlotte
